☆ Book Bag ☆

these are simple to make bags but oh so useful. i spotted some really nice ones at kath kidston. they are usually made of oil cloth and decided to have a go since i found some oil cloth on sale at john lewis. i thought it would be a quick project, but found out how difficult it is to sew oilcloth as it sticks to the presser foot of my sewing machine. a quick search on the internet yeild a few ideas. use a teflon presser foot or a cheaper alternative is to stick a layer on masking tape on the oil cloth. i used the latter, it works but peeling out the masking tape after is so time consuming.

here is kit with his new book bag!

Update: i had a brainwave...instead of sticking the masking tape to the oilcloth, stick it to the base of the presser foot!!! :-)
